Linda’s photograph exhibits a lantern floating ceremony at Ala Moana Beach Park. Every lantern represents a reminiscence of a beloved one who has handed away. 

This annual ceremony often takes place on Memorial Day, which is the final Monday within the month of Could. This 12 months would be the first 12 months since 2019 that the ceremony is totally again and open to the general public.

As you may see from Linda’s photograph, this lantern floating ceremony attracts many individuals to this shifting occasion. This 12 months, as much as 50,000 are anticipated to attend.

Per the organizers, each effort is made to stop the lanterns from floating out to sea. Volunteers accumulate the lanterns and reuse them the next 12 months.
